Do I need a prescription or a care level (Pflegegrad)?
For the cost to be covered by the statutory Krankenkasse you need a doctor's prescription (Rezept) from your GP or specialist. It should name the aid and, for special needs (for example a particularly light model), include a justification.
A care level (Pflegegrad) is not strictly required to get a rollator on prescription, but it can make approval easier. Without a prescription you can buy a Trionic privately at any time; the Krankenkasse then does not contribute, but the device is your property.
