What are Trionic rollators made of, and can they handle mud, stones and rough ground?
Yes. Trionic rollators are built for outdoor use, and many customers use them every day on farms, in woodland and on gravel tracks. This is what they are made of and how they cope with rough conditions.
What is the rollator made of?
- Frame: welded aluminium, which is light and does not rust.
- Axles, bolts and nuts: stainless steel.
- Wheel bearings: sealed ball bearings (type 6901-2RS) that keep out dirt and water.
Because of these materials, you can use and store your Trionic outdoors in all weathers.
Which model is best for mud, stones and uneven ground?
The Veloped is our most capable model on rough ground. Its patented climbing wheel rolls over stones, roots and kerbs, and the large tyres cope well with mud, grass and soft ground. The Walker 12er and Walker 14er handle gravel paths, grass, forest tracks and compacted sand well. The more demanding the terrain, the more your own strength and balance matter, so choose a route that suits your ability.
Anything to avoid?
Do not push the rollator into the sea. Salt water can get past the bearing seals and ruin the bearings. After a muddy walk, simply rinse off the dirt with water and let the rollator dry.
What if a part wears out?
Wear parts such as tyres, brake cables, grips and bearings can be replaced, so your rollator can be kept in use for many years. See Where can I buy spare parts, and how do I find the right part? or contact our customer service for help finding the right part.
