All-Terrain Rollator

An all-terrain rollator is a four-wheel walker built for surfaces beyond smooth indoor floors — gravel paths, cobblestone streets, grass, woodland trails and uneven ground. Where a standard rollator struggles, an all-terrain rollator keeps rolling.

Trionic builds two families of all-terrain rollators: the Walker (9", 12" or 14" big wheels, patented Syncro Steering) and the Veloped (3-wheel design with climbing wheel for true off-road capability).

What makes a rollator truly all-terrain?

Three features separate a genuine all-terrain rollator from a standard walker with slightly larger wheels:

  • Large, shock-absorbing wheels — air-filled (pneumatic) tyres on the Walker 12er/14er and every Veloped soak up shocks the way bicycle tyres do, rolling over cobblestones, gravel and roots without sending every bump to your hands. The Walker 9er uses maintenance-free SuperSoft PU tyres for similar comfort.
  • Wheel diameter — a larger wheel rolls over obstacles more easily. The Walker 12er uses 31 cm wheels; the 14er uses 36 cm. Standard rollators typically use 15–20 cm solid wheels.
  • Steering stability on slopes — on a cross-slope, most rollators pull sideways. The Trionic Walker uses patented Syncro Steering — the two front wheels are mechanically linked to always turn at exactly the same angle, like a car's front axle. The rollator tracks straight on any surface.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an all-terrain rollator and a standard rollator?
A standard rollator uses small, hard wheels (15–20 cm) for smooth indoor floors. An all-terrain rollator uses large pneumatic or SuperSoft tyres — 23 to 36 cm — that absorb shocks and roll over cobblestones, gravel and uneven ground. On real outdoor terrain the difference is immediate.
Can I use an all-terrain rollator indoors?
Yes. Large-wheel all-terrain rollators work perfectly indoors — the larger wheels cross thresholds and floor transitions more smoothly, and the soft tyres are quiet on hard floors. The reverse isn't true: an indoor rollator quickly falls short outdoors.
What wheel size should I choose?
Match wheel size to your roughest regular surface. 9" for mostly indoors with occasional outings. 12" for everyday pavements, parks and gravel. 14" for woodland trails, beach and rough ground. Veloped for kerbs, steps and true off-road.
How heavy are all-terrain rollators?
Trionic Walker models weigh about 9.1–9.9 kg. The off-road Veloped models weigh about 11.4–12.5 kg (12-inch versions), reflecting their larger wheels and climbing wheel. All use a lightweight aluminium frame, and the quick-release wheels let you lift the frame on its own — the wheels-off transport weight is roughly 6.5 kg (Walker) and 7.7 kg (Veloped).
Are all-terrain rollators foldable?
Yes. All Trionic Walker and Veloped models fold flat and fit in a car boot. The Walker 12er and 14er also feature quick-release wheels for compact storage and air travel.
